Below are some of our previous events

TWILIGHT at CRANLANA

Guests had a rare opportunity to celebrate The HOPE Fund on a lovely Spring evening at one of Victoria’s most exquisite gardens - Cranlana House

We were thrilled to extend an exclusive invitation to our supporters for Twilight at Cranlana 2024. Nestled behind the beautifully crafted and architecturally designed gates of Clendon Road, Toorak, lies Cranlana. This garden, considered one of the finest in Victoria, was the beloved home of Sidney Myer, Dame Merlyn Myer, and their family. In 1929, the renowned architect Harold Desbrowe-Annear, a pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement in Australia, was commissioned to extend and remodel this magnificent garden.

This evening was unforgettable as we celebrated our accomplishments with delicious food, live performances from from Carneval Strings and exciting activities to support our cause.

We successfully raised much needed awareness and support for upper gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic cancer patients.

Boardroom Series Breakfast

Boardroom Series Breakfast, featuring NAB Senior Economist, Alan Oster.

After an insightful and incredible presentation in 2023 we were honoured to welcome Alan back again in 2024!

As Group Chief Economist Alan is directly responsible for NAB's global economic and financial forecasts and directly oversees the Bank’s global economics team. As well as over-seeing the forecasts he is the Groups principal economic spokesman. That role sees Alan writing articles and commenting in the media on local and international trends. He also has the pleasure of close and regular discussion with the most senior officials at the Reserve Bank and Treasury.

Guests were treated to a presentation from Alan on local, national and global economic conditions, with a Q&A hosted by Evan Lucas.

A special thank you goes out to Nigel Mason, whose touching story highlighted the profound importance of our work in supporting patients and advancing research. His words served as a powerful reminder of the difference we can make together!

Annual Fundraising Gala 2023

On April 29th 2023 we welcomed 220 guests to the stunning Ormond Hall, celebrating our local research accomplishments, hearing inspirational stories of hope and sharing our vision for the future. The Gala is our biggest fundraising event of the year, providing a unique opportunity for our network of supporters and partners to gather with our surgeons, researchers and volunteers.

Fundraising Breakfast with Simon Griffiths (2022)

In September 2022, we hosted a fundraising breakfast featuring Simon Griffiths, the Co-Founder and CEO of Who Gives A Crap, the profit-for-purpose toilet paper company that donates 50% of its profits to help build toilets in the developing world, held at the State Library of Victoria.

Annual Fundraising Gala (2022)

On Saturday 30th April 2022, we welcomed almost 200 guests to the stunning Arts Centre Melbourne. We celebrated research achievements and the progress of The HOPE Fund. There was of course a delicious meal, wonderful entertainment and dancing, and an exciting auction for fundraising. We look forward to holding our next Gala in April 2023.
